The Yumeiho Therapy Principles

Yumeiho therapy was invented in 1978 in Japan by Dr. Saionji Masayuki Saiki Otsuki, director of the Center for International Preventive Medicine. The Institute is located in Tokyo and was later renamed the Yumeiho Institute. Master Saionji has carefully analysed many ancient Japanese and Chinese methods (Anma, Seitai Ho and Shiatsu), chosen the most effective techniques and integrated them into one. This is how the new Yumeiho Therapy was created.

Yumeiho is a therapeutic system consisting of a specific number of treatments (depending on the number and severity of pathologies). The duration of one therapy session is 40–60 minutes. The therapist applies about 100 different techniques during the session. It helps to solve a specific problem.

Yumeiho therapy exercises the joints (from head to toe) and muscles throughout the body. The nervous system, which falls under one of the meridians, is also positively affected. The session also includes visceral therapy, which is a massage of the internal organs to restore the position and function of the organs and the structures around them.

What Yumeiho Helps for?

It is worth considering Yumeiho if the patient is suffering from such health problems.

  • Lumbalgia.
  • Ischialgia.
  • Scoliosis.
  • Pain in hip joints, knees, ankles, fingers and ribs.
  • Headaches of various kinds.
  • Pain and tension in the shoulder area.
  • Heavy, painful or irregular periods.
  • Liver, kidney and spleen diseases.
  • Gastrointestinal diseases.
  • Heart, pancreatic and bladder diseases
  • Hypertension or hypotension.

Yumeiho Therapy is a tool for treating and preventing disease. Yumeiho therapy is also useful for people who want to improve their overall body condition, feel healthier and happier.

The Theory of Body Balance

Yumeiho therapy is based on the theory of body balance. One of the main principles of this theory is that a person’s weight should be distributed evenly on both left and right side of the body. However, for a variety of reasons, weight is distributed unevenly. According to Yumeiho theory, this imbalance is caused by a displacement in the hip and pelvic bones.

The pelvis and spine are an important biomechanical system in humans, helping to maintain correct posture. When the pelvis begins to tilt sideways, the whole body becomes imbalanced. In other words, there is no longer a harmonious interaction between the muscles on opposite sides of the body. Imbalances in the body lead to problems in the muscular system and internal organs, and can lead to a wide range of illnesses and poor health.

The main aim of Yumeiho therapy is to mobilize the auto-therapeutic or self-healing forces of our organism by setting the vertebral column, pelvis and all joints correctly. Yumeiho therapy is a therapeutic system consisting of a number of procedures (depending on a pathologic state).

1Left Hipbone Displacement Type

Heart and lung diseases are more common.

Predisposition to obesity.

Frequent constipation.

Recurrent colds.

2Right Hipbone Displacement Type

Liver and stomach diseases are more common.

Predisposition to leanness.

Frequent diarrhoea.

Menstrual disorders.

Effects of Yumeiho Therapy

Yumeiho therapy exercises the joints (from head to toe) and muscles throughout the body. The nervous system, which falls under one of the meridians, is also positively affected.

  • Relaxation or revitalization, tailored to the individual’s condition.
  • Emotional stabilization and stress reduction.
  • Regulation of digestion and improvement of gastrointestinal function.
  • Improvement of body balance and gait.
  • Regulation of immune function and homeostasis.
  • Mental clarity and improved concentration.
  • Increased flexibility and suppleness of joints and muscles.
  • Harmonization of the energy system and regulation of energy flow.
  • Release of traumas and psychosomatic blockages.

One of the techniques of Yumeiho Therapy is visceral therapy, which helps to overcome constipation, cramps and normalise the functioning of internal organs.
